DIY Sunflower home decor perfect for any area.

These adorable canning jars made the perfect beginning to our home decor project using the vibrant colors of sunflowers. Great for Mother’s Day, Weddings, Baby Showers, or table decor. Add a fall element to this DIY and easily transition it to fall decor!

This DIY does not require any previous painting skills. I am not a painter for sure! Watch my video to see how truly simple it is to make your own.

Supplies

  • 2 – quart canning jars
  • White spray paint
  • 1″ round sponge brush
  • 2 different size paint brushes including fine tip
  • Acrylic paint in beige, dark brown, yellow and orange
  • Raffia
  • 5/8″ or 1″ wired ribbon
  • Sunflower bush
  • Scissors
  • Glue gun

I cleaned my jars thoroughly with rubbing alcohol, then used the white spray paint on the outside of the canning jars the 24 hours before starting this DIY.

Here is a great picture of our finished bow with raffia.

You don’t need to be precise with your painting technique, as you can see mine is less than perfect, but neither is mother nature.
